Roots and Wings

from $50.00

The piece "Roots and Wings" belongs to the series Hallelujah ("Praise the Lord" in Hebrew). The pieces within this series depict tree-like people dancing, intertwined, with roots planted beside the River of Life. The inspiration comes from Psalm 1:3: "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Here, a family of father, mother and child are connected, their hands flowing within each other, looking up to the Divine Light of Love. Each one has wings on their shoulders and deep roots. My intention was to emphasize that parents provide wings and roots to their children: wings to fly and be spiritual beings, and roots to get nourishment from the rich traditions of the past. The Holy Spirit from above channels the Eternal Life into them. The colors used besides gold are turquoise and emerald to represent the River of Life, the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit of vigor and healing into eternal life.
