Walking on Water
“Then, Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:29-31.
Walking on the water is testing of our faith. When our hearts are calm and pure to reflect God’s love, then our faith grows strong in the Lord. We establish a relationship of trust on the Lord, that acknowledges our human weaknesses and yield ourselves to Him, without hesitation and doubt, especially during challenging times. COVID-19 shook us to the core and tested our faith. By focusing on Christ and following Him, one step at a time, without turning back or being distracted on the stormy waters, we will develop our faith.
This piece belongs to the Perspective from Above – Transcend series. Christ appears as the All-seeing Eye of God, extending arms to Peter. Their hands form the letter X – which is also the Greek and Slavic initial of Christ.
