Leap of Faith - FROG
LEAP OF FAITH
This Leap of Faith piece is a commission, that grew out of the image of a leaping frog. Oracio’s little daughter gave him this image of a leaping frog and he was inspired by the spiritual meaning, "leap of faith." So, he requested an interpretation of the image and of how it relates to faith and to God. The first thought was the phrase “Leap of faith.” The Cross was the next important symbol of our faith and then came the idea that the vertical part of the Cross is a ladder. The frog walks up the ladder and, standing on the top, leaps toward the Hands of God – the Father. Both cherubim holding a ribbon with “Leap of faith” as a finish to this race of spiritual progression. The frog leaps to the Hands of God. Oracio then requested the word “frog.” A search of Scripture led to an image of a frog with that Psalm, but with the meaning of FROG – Fully Rely On God.
